Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football and volunteering for the community. One of the first things he did is to help the Selmon family. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. The family raised nine kids on a Eufala farm. The second football was that he is the youngest of three brothers who played with Oklahoma. All three made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the most effective lineman in the United States. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. Also, they won the national title twice. Selmon was an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third time in the year 1975. Selmon earned a degree as an educator. Fourth service In the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. Additionally, he started an entrepreneurial career. The year 1988 was the first time he worked as an Account Relations Officer at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when In 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top 10 outstanding youngsters across the country. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 7-foot-2. While he was in college, he was the captain of the team of 1975. He was hired by the University of South Florida in 1993 as an Associate Director of Sports. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 by The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by in the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. Parents, Lucious as well as Mary Selmon, Jr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
