Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake was an American actress that appeared in several movies and TV series. The most prominent role she played was as Miss Kitty Russell on the TV program 'Gunsmoke.' In addition to this the show, she also appeared in television series such as "The Red Skelton Show", "Tattletales" and "The Edge of Night". Also, she was a part of in dozens of other films that included Stars In My Crown, Duchess Of Idaho, Cattle Town, Miss Robin Crusoe,?"About Mrs. Leslie",?The Adventures of Hajjibaba The Boost??. Formerly a telephone operator, Blake was an avid animal enthusiast. She and her husband Frank Gilbert and she were one of the first humans who successfully bred Cheetahs. In addition, the American actor was among founding co-founders of Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL). In addition to being a board member of Humane Society of the United States, Blake has an extensive history. Blake was elected to the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The American Cancer Society also gave Blake a Courage Award.
